Q+A from the curses and entities chapter of Magick As F*ck.

Because it’s relaunching in May 2026, and there’s some gold that’s wrong to hoard. Also, this is just 9 questions from that chapter’s 20 question Q+A.

Not an entity or demon - just me if I’m forced to be awake before 11am.

Q1: What's the difference between a curse and a casting?

Answer: A curse is a very methodical, structured, typically ritual-based casting designed to cause harm.

A casting is just a focused thought which contains a charged energy aligned with a feeling. It can be intentional or subconscious.

When a ritual or formal process is not involved, a harmful casting can be created by what is known as, “an unconscious witch”. This could be a person who's angry at you and very potently drowning in their rageful emotions while thinking thoughts of harm occurring to you.

E.G., “I deeply dislike that person and now I’m imagining that something awful happens to them on their holiday coming up," with genuine, deep emotional charge.

Technically it may operate similarly to a curse because the one casting is knowingly / unknowingly sending a ‘package of energy’ which includes the desire to see you harmed. With a curse, an energetic intelligence or spirit will zero-in on your deepest fear and amplify it. A curse has more deliberate structure, process and intent behind it of course, and the momentum of crap things occurring experienced by the target of the spell is shockingly fast.

Q2: Is drinking alcohol giving entities permission to enter?

Answer: If you drink alcohol in an unconscious state where your intention is “I want to numb myself," the belief is that the universe responds with “Ok, I'm going to help you numb yourself."

Sometimes that involves spiritual beings like what we call ‘entities’ - a term used to class a parasite type of spirit. These beings need a transaction of sorts to exist in your field. In this case, some entities may want to help numb by feeding off you in a way that distracts from feelings you don't want to feel.

Another idea to consider : sometimes the spell you cast without boundaries gets cast for you.

This is why preparation in self reflection and conscious, aligned intention matters even when enjoying recreational substances.

Again - the most powerful magician within you is your subconscious.

Q3: What's the line between protection and paranoia in this work?

Answer: If the paranoia is rooted in fear, the protection will likely have a kink in it, unless it’s a pretty special thing cast in a system-based faith where deity work can only be engaged an ordained spirit worker - specific systems like Voodoo, Hoodoo, Yoruban, etc...

Otherwise, if your protection is rooted in something creation or connection-centric (the opposite of fear-based is creation/love/value-driven), this evolves into something that becomes more about developing your own style.

The more you evolve, the more your energetic potency and ‘magick’ increases. I may have been overprotective when I was new because I was learning how it all worked.

Later I became more confident because I had experiences that supported what I learned about spiritual and energetic systems and I was able to test the teachings out practically.

Eventually, I could reliably ‘shoo’ spirits away easily, activate miracles for people, or use principles of energy work through magick to speed up mundane things like government applications that would usually take years. Find your balance through experience - start careful, build confidence through success.

Q4: Why do some magicK workers AND HEALER keep attracting people with entities and difficult spiritual situations?

Answer: This could be several things: You might be getting initiated into a deeper level of purpose in your work.

I told one student who felt they were in an initiation : “Look, you don't have to do this work. It might show up in your life and you may feel a clear knowing that it’s your path. It could be a feeling like, ‘OK, this one's for you, you're going to learn as you do this; this is your initiation.' But you might also get a hit to ‘pass this to someone else', and if you get that, there’s no shame in passing it along.

Learn to decode your unique library of intuitive feelings so you can feel safer to trust inner guidance and its nuances."

In my experience living this and guiding this, if your guides are telling you what to do either through clear instruction or inner knowing, and you’re having people placed people in front of you, it’s basically the spirit world putting you through a curriculum.

I know this sounds insane, but if you’ve lived it, reading this will feel very much resonant. It’s almost like having your life very obviously orchestrated, or being chess-moved into interesting scenarios. It’s very much like what folks call synchronicity, but on proverbial steroids.

Another potential cause someone or you might be attracting entities from : You might have a subconscious negative belief - aka a ‘hex’ - saying, “If I'm going to be in this space, I have to deal with this shit." That belief itself opens the door to exactly what you fear; it’s essentially a spell cast by your subconscious.

Otherwise, another cause could be energetic hygiene. If you feel tired a lot of the time, or like your life ‘isn’t your’s, but somehow is everyone else’s, then this could be for you.

In this case, your fix is to look into better self-cleansing practices and / or more discipline around your boundaries and falling into people-pleasing.

Q5: Can you use A PERSON’S physical materials like hair for BENEFICIAL magic, not just harmful magic?

Answer: Yes. I have used my own finger nails and sexual fluid in a few rituals around my own healing, or for seeding specific things.

Again - connect the ingredient to an energy it naturally expresses. For example, female sexual fluids could be considered lubricating, and could make things move or ‘come’ quicker. If you charge your own sexual fluids during sex (solo or otherwise), that can be utilized as well to build creative energy or call in felling more pleasure, intentionally, as an anchoring feeling to call in.

Q6: What's the practical difference between melting down a candle versus letting it burn normally?

Answer: I have seen artificially melting down finished candles that contain harmful energy as a clean-up or recycling process. This was done using one of those jar candle warming plate devices you see in, “Live Laugh Love” style homes, or U.S chain stores like Home Goods or Michael’s.

As one example, if someone leaves a nasty curse candle in your car - this happened to a client - you may reasonably feel reticent to light and potentially complete their magic. Consider that even if it’s an innocent forgotten candle, you don’t know what could be in that candle if anything.

If it is a cast candle to do harm, you don’t know how they cast it, and your own fears may be activated in that moment, which is fertile soil for nasty magicks to take hold.

So what’s a solid solution? You might consider to destroy the physical candle - the safest option - or if you’re adept and confident to read the energy of the candle and trust your magick well, you may opt to change the energy in that candle instead, which is a powerful but pros-only solution.

Consider the energy math : You're taking something solid that was cast with harmful intent, using flame to break it down into liquid form while pre-supposing and therefore intending the message of, “I'm breaking you down into nothing, returning you to your original form of wax, because I am stronger than whatever is here and I can do this."

Then you bury the liquid wax for Earth to transform into ‘fertilizer’, or pour it into a vessel which collects all the recycled melted wax and charges it with new energy as a larger ‘alchemy’ project.

See? Powerful. But not for beginners.

Q7: What do I do when my partner keeps blowing out my candles because they're afraid of fire?

Answer: First, check energetically - did you invest too much personal desire - often a mask of a hidden fear, and therefore a seed of fear - into that magick that you're being protected from manifesting?

Sometimes when candles get blown out, there's subconscious pollution in the work and the outer fractal of reality is reacting.

If it's just fire fear, ask the person directly. A statement centering both, their mental sense of safety and your need to complete the magick is where the sweet spot often is. Example, “I know you worry about candles burning in the house. If I put it in a bowl of water, where in the house would you feel safe to allow it to burn out?"

You could also get a glass case with ventilation holes and put the candle and water bowl inside. Or work with shorter candles while you're in the house. Or just break up with this person (I’m kidding but also, not).

Q8: How do I know if chronic pain I feel during readings is mine or theirs?

Answer: Ask out loud: “Is this mine?" Big breath in, big breath out, empty your mind.

You'll get yes, no, or ambiguous.

If ambiguous, ask these questions specifically, one at a time:

  1. “Is it a resonance in me reacting to their emotion?”,

  2. “Is [this] part of it mine?”,

  3. “Is [that] part theirs?"

Break the inquiry down to binary micro-questions where you’ll be able to filter into more clarity.

There is a standard resonance that happens to every working psychic. There's always a resonance between you and your clients. It’s what brings you together, and as the guide / healer / mage you're likely further along in transforming that frequency.

When you work with a client or partner to transform something, you actually transform something in yourself too. It’s one of the perks of the ‘job’, so make sure you also have adequate space and time to rest and regenerate.

Q9: Why are whippets (and ketamine) Considered spiritually dangerous?

Answer: I’ve not used them personally and never will. A good friend died from using them, and one of the messiest cases of possession I saw, was someone using ketamine as a crutch device to go into channel to make their art, but what the person didn’t want to accept, was that they were very much inhabited and influenced by a spirit form.

It has been my observation - not a hard fact - that recreational ketamine, especially in people who are natural channels - cracks the crown chakra open far beyond the person’s natural energetic capacity. When they return to ‘sober’, that capacity doesn’t seem to rubber band back.

Think of it like having a super serum that lets you lift twice your weight, but doesn’t adapt the muscles for it. If you went in the gym post-serum wearing off and confidently tried to lift that weight, you might injure yourself.

I saw a guy who became symbiotic with a being from “another dimension" through this combination.

One of my teachers extracted the spirit form from this person - I found out after the fact - but the client kept calling this spirit right back because they attributed their artistic abilities to this relationship with the entity. I also extracted the entity and watched it come right back. The artist’s identity as an artist became dependent on it.

Simply - anything that is seen as protective to the person will be hard to give up. Exorcisms are unwise to force upon someone unless it’s a medical emergency, like they’re in a coma or at risk of organ failure / death.
